Welcome to our Apron Full of Giveaways! I hope everyone is having a great week this week! As we do each week, here is our round-up of giveaways for our readers. We hope that this is beneficial to you and your family! Please let us know if you guys win anything- I love to hear the success stories!

Below are the contest links-if you are hosting a contest please link it up below. Sorry, we aren’t giving away the aprons just showcasing them! Please put your site name and then what type of contest you are hosting. For example, “MomAdvice (Kid’s Movies).”

This week I am also hosting my own giveaway. I am giving three copies of, “The Baby Cheapskate Guide to Bargains,” by Angela Wynne away to three lucky readers on our site. If you have not been on the Baby Cheapskate website before, you really should visit it for great deals and advice on raising your family on a budget.

This book is the book that I wished that I would have had when I had small children. It takes you through everything from how to score the best deals on diapers, how to save on formula, what items to purchase and what just aren’t worth the money, and basic principles on shopping smart. Costs for our babies adds up and she discovered that parents can shell out more than $23,000 in just those first two years of your baby’s life. This guide to savings will help you keep more money in your child’s college fund and less spent on those unnecessary expenses in the first two years.

Please leave a comment with your best tip for saving on expenses in those first two years in the comments below to enter to win!

Three winners chosen at random, will receive a copy of, “The Baby Cheapskate Guide to Bargains.” Please submit your entries by Tuesday (07/03) at 8PM EST.  Our winners will be drawn at random. Good luck, everyone!

With baby no. 1, I did the basics – couponing and shopping at garage sales – but with baby no. 2 on the way, I’d like to do better this time!

I make my own baby food and have been since my daughter started solids. Bags of dried beans, vegetables and chickpeas are very inexpensive and much more nutritious as there are no additives or preservatives. Cook until soft and either mash or break up so it’s easy for baby to eat. The bags go a LONG ways too. Last much longer than a jar of baby food. This combined with breastfeeding through at least 12 months made grocery expenses minimal!

By the clothes on clearance in advance so you can always get a good price before your in need for them. Or by them from a thrift store!

Coupons, coupons, coupons! We NEVER buy diapers without them being on sale and combining that with a coupon (or ideally a store and manufacturer coupon). I also totally agree with the last comment – we make our own baby food which allows us to buy organic food in bulk from a warehouse store and make a huge batch….healthier and cheaper! :)

I have been coupling to find the best deals on things like diapers- but have recently discovered that generic brands (like target) work just as well! With the money we save there, we cam spend a bit more for the more expensive and safer soaps, sunscreen, etc.

My daughter is only 4 mos old so we don’t have many tips yet but we are saving a lot by borrowing as much as possible. Baby gear adds up so fast!

combining sales and coupons to get great deals. Making a list and setting a regular price, so I know right away if a sale is a good price or if the price as been raised before the item was put on sale.

As a first time mama, I have saved a huge amount of money over the first 6 months by shopping at Thrift or Resale stores for baby items. Always check for and ask about sales in these stores. I found a 50% off & 75% off sale day at a Resale/Thrift Store.

Leave tags on clothes and outfits until you actually plan to put them in it the next day…you will be shocked how many outfits and shoes you never get to, the size is wrong for the season, or baby just grows to fast and you miss it! Make a return or exchange, and get what you need at that moment to save your cash.

Always accept freebies and hand-me-downs, thrift stores, garage sales… Save all of your clothes/usable items from baby’s older siblings.
