It is my favorite family day of the entire year. Pure and unadulterated pumpkin loving and picking for the entire family. My heart practically bursts every year that we get to do this together and this year was no exception. This year though my heart was just bursting and my eyes were all welling up as I saw my kids in the same exact spots as just two years ago. Yes, they looked completely different than they did before. They had to duck in places that used to easily slide under. They reached spots that they couldn’t reach before. Taking them was a whole heck of a lot easier. We all seemed to enjoy it more than the time before.  Family fun was even more fun this year.

It is bittersweet to watch them grow.

Happy and a little sad all at the same time.

Love the new “do”, or is it just wind blown?! Your son is so your husband, and your daughter is so you. Very cute!

I tried curling it that day, just to switch things up a bit. It is nice to reinvent yourself every once in awhile!! :)

ah isn’t that the truth – bittersweet indeed! I took my youngest to one of my favorite farms and we did their hayride – I have done it numerous times with the other kids, and I had a free day home alone with my youngest and wanted to do something special with him. He grinned ear to ear the entire time, and when I shared our adventure with my other (older) kids, they were upset that they missed it! We aren’t the only ones who want to hold onto those little kiddo memories! Looking forward to getting our big pumpkins, carving them up and roasting the seeds the same night as the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown special – never too old for that tradition!

You have a good looking family. I love this time of the year, too. I know that there are more fun times ahead and we get to see more family amd friends. The kids really do grow very quickly but, I like them getting bigger, too.

This was a very nice post to read. It made me smile and think about taking my family to the pumpkin patch. I have never been to a real pumpkin patch but, I think it would be a nice thing to start with my family. Thanks for the idea. Have a great time carving yours.
