Our family loves to play board games and we love sharing great game ideas with our friends. A few that we love are:
1) Sequence: The kids love being in charge of putting the chips on the board and the goal is just to get 5 chips in a row. Not too hard, but a lot of fun.
2) Trivial Pursuit: Whatever flavor you pick, this game is a perennial favorite. My kids were recently gifted the Disney edition with harder questions for ages 14 and up and easier questions for the littles.
3) Monopoly the Card Game: This was a gift for Easter this year. All the fun of Monopoly, in about 20 minutes instead of 3 hours. ‘Nuff said.

Our family favorites are Uno Attack & Phase 10. When we have extended family over we always pull out Uno Attack for tons of laughing & fun!!

My husband, our 11 year old, and myself like to play a game called Carcassonne. It’s part chess, part Risk, and a lot of fun. There’s expansion packs that you can add to it, as well, to change the game.

Our faves are Bananagrams, Monopoly deluxe (no paper money to lose), Scene It, and I wish I could remember the darn name to it but its “Who is it” or something like that where you each get a board with tiles that flip up/down and you ask questions like “does he/she have glasses” “does he/she have long hair” so you guess the person correctly… My daughter has started getting into phase 10, but since that is a card game it does not technically count does it (nor would Bananagrams!)

We play board games every Sunday afternoon. Scattegories is fun. So is the Amazing Race DVD / Board game (you use the board + a DVD). eBay is nice and quick and most of the kids love it -there is always one kid who doesn’t like each game
For non-board games, like other commenters we love Bananagrams and Phase 10.
