Has anyone tried the gold cleanser? my necklace is my late moms and she either said it was real gold or it’s just really dirty. But it sometimes, very rarely, but sometimes turns my chest green…. is it fake or very dirty?

The silver cleaning method is so great! I've used it for many years. There used to be some "As seen on TV" product that was essentially the same thing. It is also a good science experiment or just a really cool trick for little kids to see. I had some pretty tarnished stuff so as soon as it came in contact with the aluminum foil, it cleaned up quickly.

For diamonds and platinum, I use ammonia. One part ammonia to 3 parts water. I just soak for a minute, then scrub with a little brush. I haven't had any problems, and I always wonder why it takes me so long to clean my engagement ring – it looks so shiny and new when it's clean!
