The Motherload Blog

No eating out means I need to pack up lunches for my husband. I normally do this, but have a desire to make these lunches extra special so he won’t mind this No Spend Challenge so much. A sprinkle of fresh parsley and a little bit of grated cheese make his lunches a little more glamorous this month.

I truly adore cooking and I love when he opens up his containers at work, after a quick zap in the microwave, and his coworkers curse him as their stomachs growl in protest. I admit it, I am a total showoff and completely live for his work feedback.

“Did anyone say anything about your lunch?” I slyly ask. “WHAT? No one was there! They must smell this! They must!”

I live for little moments like those.

    Blessings!

Ha! Well, you have to have a sense of humor about it all :)

Rachel & Steph- I promise to post the recipe for you. It is a new dish I just cranked out that I can't wait to share with you. :)

when we first got married, my husband made a comment that now he could look like the married guys… the bachelors packed sandwiches, the married guys had delicious-looking leftovers in their lunches.

he was glad to be moving out of the sandwich category!

LOL How funny. My husband is quite envied at work as well, when I cook for him and pack his lunches.

I have been unable to cook/pack my dh’s lunches since I have been pregnant due to morning sickness, but I’m looking forward to returning to the kitchen after my little one is born! My dh has been doing his own cooking and packing of lunches, so I know that HE is looking forward to my return to the kitchen even more than I am! :-)

Laurel- I read your comment to my hubby and he shook his head in total agreement. Married guys are sooooo lucky :)

Tammy- I bet your hubby will be glad when you are back in the kitchen for him. Morning sickness is the worst!

Do you have a recipe for that bowtie pasta and garlic bread? They look so yummy! I’m lucky and my hubby loves my leftovers. :)
