Happy Freebie Friday!
Here's a hot new freebie I just found out about from All You. You can get one free weekend car rental from Hertz! Yes you still have to pay taxes & gas – but this is a great deal for anyone planning a weekend trip. It is being offered now thru March 31. Read the details on the All You blog.

Thanks! I can’t wait to go make the race cars at Lowe’s tomorrow with my guys!

I just wanted to let everyone know that the parents magazine one isn’t what it seems to be! After I submitted my information it said something like, thanks for your free subscription to esquire magazine. I really don’t want that! I hope this comment lets others know not to get that, its too good to be true I guess.

Can you explain a little about free magazine subscriptions? I keep looking for the “catch.” Do they renew the subscription and bill you after the free period ends?

Samantha –
I believe that the Parents magazine offer thru StartSampling ended before they took the form down – so that is why you may have been redirected to a different offer. I have received every single free magazines sample I have ordered thru StartSampling and never received a bill. I did order the Parents magazine thru them last week and I’m sure I will get it also (they also had advertised it on the Kroger free samples page).
StartSampling is the best source of free magazine samples. Please read more about the best sources of free magazines at Freebies4Mom in this post: Free Magazines 4 Mom.
Michie –
There are a lot of free magazine samples out there, but some of them have higher success than others (meaning you actually receive them in your mailbox). I’ve highlighted what I consider the best sources of free samples for magazines in my post I linked to above. You should be aware that you don’t want to sign-up for any “free trials” for magazines because with those you will get a bill. I only recommend signing-up for free samples. Some free magazines samples linked to on Freebie Friday are only for a specific audience (i.e. businesses, or a certain age group). So read the details, and sign-up for those you are interested in getting.
I’m getting all of my magazines for FREE and I want you to be getting them for FREE too!

I agree with Heather. I personally have great success with all of the magazines that I have gotten through FreeBizMag, Mercury, & Start Sampling. I have not, however, had good success with some of other companies out there so I try to only post what I have good success with.
Please visit Heather's article for more great info on making the best choices. I tend to only go for magazines that will offer a year or two that are free, rather than a single issue sign-up.
I hope that helps!
