Thanks for the post, Amy. Our family (Me, my husband, 6 yr boy and 4 yr gir) have been seeing a chiropractor regularly for 3 years now. We visit twice a month and have experienced substantial increase in health. We recommend him to families all the time. It's great to see other families experiencing the same!
Cindy from Orlando, FL

Finding a good chiropractor is so very important and I currently don't know of a particular website that has patient reviews. When looking for a chiropractor, first ask for a consultation. You have the right to interview the doctor and use that to your advantage. Another option is to ask to see some patient testimonials. Most of the great chiropractors I know keep a record of their patients testimonials and they can be helpful. Lastly, be sure to ask around and try to get a personal referral.
Thanks for the question,
Dr. Kallie

Hi Megan,

My best recommendation for supplements are from the company Biotics. These are not available in your local stores, they do have to be ordered by a licensed chiropractor or other licensed health care provider. I personally use these supplements and love them. I would be more than happy to discuss anymore in depth questions about supplements via my email: docwegmann1@msn.com.
Great question by the way...
Dr. Kallie

Megan- I forwarded your question over to Kallie so hopefully she will have some great suggestions for supplements. Personally,I really like the Solaray products and my own chiropractor gave the nod on those and I purchased them at the Vitamin Shoppe. Once in awhile they will have a really good sale on them, but they are a little higher price than the store-brand, but worth it.

Motherhood for Dummies- Those two website links at the bottom should help. Kallie does recommend asking others in your area about good chiropractors, but those two sites might be a good place to start.

I am so glad you guys are enjoying these interviews. I have a business coach and a dermatologist up next :)

I had never really experienced back pain until the end of my first pregnancy. I started going to physical therapy after my son was born, and it was both expensive and ineffective, so I stopped going. The pain seemed to go away . . . until this pregnancy began, and then it flared up almost immediately. At the suggestion of my dr., I started seeing a chiropractor. Though I'm always a little nervous to go (HATE the sound of the adjustments!), I always feel better and I've been quite impressed at what a difference it has made. Also, it's covered by our insurance, and so it literally costs just a few dollars per visit. Highly worth it in my opinion!

I would definitely like to hear more recommendations on supplements. It's very overwhelming. Are there particular brands/companies that are better than others? What do you recommend for nursing mothers?

Thanks for sharing your insight:)!

Chiropractic care has been a God send in my life. I was injured many years ago and going to the chiropractor keeps me from having migraines and allows me to move my neck!

My son has gone since he was 5 weeks old. He has had one ear infection in his entire life. I attribute much of his health to chiropractic care!
Lizzie

I started seeing a chiropractor at the beginning of this year and it has been an important key in solving some health issues. I also (finally) started taking fish oil supplements and saw an almost immediate healing in some knee pain I was having. And I started taking the higher quality multis that the chiropractor sells at his office (he said the kind you can get at Walmart, etc., is basically junk).
I also saw several "regular" doctors during that time to see if they could help me with my health problems and they were no help at all. I'm not saying that regular medical doctors are always unhelpful, because they're not, but I think it's good to be willing to look outside the box when it comes to your health.
Plus the chiropractor really emphasizes self-care and doing all the basic things like drinking plenty of water, avoiding sugar, etc., that the medical doctors don't really mention that much. And he gave me some stretches to do at home that keep me from having to see him as often.
I was excited to see this interview on your blog. :~)
