You should really be careful with scented playdough! Even I sometimes just want to try if it really tastes like strawberries/chocolate etc :D

We made this playdough for a birthday party recently and packaged it in the empty cocoa box. My husband googled "Hershey's font" and downloaded the font to personalize the label. He scanned in the label, changed the name to "Ashley's Cocoa" and switched some of the type to say play related things (can't remember right now), and attached it and covered it in clear contact paper. It turned out SOOOO cute and one batch of the playdough fit perfectly in the box! We're making some this weekend for my nephew and it's going to be my go-to gift from now on.

I use the same Kool-aid RecipeZaar recipe. It's my absolute fav!
I'll have to give those other scents a try too. :)

Miss Belle loved the play-dough. So much, in fact, that she could not resist the urge to taste it. (actually whitney dared her to, so she gave in and did it). She was very disapointed that it did not TASTE as wonderful as it SMELLED. :)

It was a delightful gift. Thank you so much.

This is a great idea that I'll file away for future use.

One of the favorite things I have given for kids birthdays are a package of socks, with each sock filled with a little treat (candy, matchbox cars, pencils or markers, girls hair accessories, change, etc.). I tie each sock with a ribbon and then usually bundle the bunch together. I get the socks and goodies throughout the year on clearance or with coupons. They seem to be well received because they are fun for the kids and moms usually express that one can't have too many socks (especially the moms of boys!).

We had a Bob the Builder party mid December. The kids loved making homemade play doh as one of the activities. I love the warm feeling straight out of the pan. They added allsorts; glitter, scents and colours. Then took them home in tin boxes from Michaels. Was a real hit.

Great idea! I love those theme/kit gifts. One that I remember very well that my son received in his preschool years was a bath kit - it had bath toys and some of those bath color tablets. That was a big hit and a very practical, not so cluttery, gift.
