I tried to subscribe to your blog as I would like to enter the $500 Walmart giftcard giveaway. Not sure if I was successful.

For the holidays I have many four legged friends that I like to give gifts to. To save lots of money, I make my own doggie treats and wrap them in canisters from the dollar store.

I love the scarf! I wish I knew how to knit. Maybe I will ask for a stater kit for Christmas!

Today at the Cyber Monday sales I got a bunch of reusable water bottles to give out as gifts. I also got some really cute fleece gloves from Old Navy. Both items were less than $5 each and had free shipping. I will combine them with a small bag of cookies.

Leslie-

I am the SAME exact way. I horde containers because I figure there has to be another good use for them. Those seem like a no-brainer keeper because the contents inside isn't even messy :)

Those nut containers are great. I actually get wallpaper borders and use those to recover them- they are the perfect size!!

Thanks to everyone on the compliments on the scarf- I am a knitting fool these days.

I knew there was a use for those containers but I just couldn't think of what it was. I fight the urge to save every bottle, box and container that comes into my home.

(What about those coffee creamer containers? Oh, and the green ones that nuts come in? They have a wonderful screw on lid. I may have a container illness of some sort.)

And I love the pink scarf.

What a great teacher gift!! My son has 4 teachers though, I wonder how fast I can knit, it's been awhile. And I am SO excited to make the chi tea. Looks like a trip to Michaels in the morning! Thanks for the great idea. I love your blogs and your tips on Aldi have been saving me lots of money.

AnneMarie,

That is a great idea too! I will post my Cocoa recipe on Monday- it is really rich and yummy. Oh, and you can make it out of Aldi ingredients :)

Sorry about the commenting thing- not sure what happened there.

Yay! Got the comment thing to work!

As I told you, I love the scarf. Maybe next year I'll be able to do that myself for some gifts!

One gift that I do every year for the kids' teachers is a little picture frame ornament (I got some this year at Hobby Lobby for $3 each) with a picture of the kids in them. Last year I also did a cookie mix. I think I might do that again this year and/or some mini loaves of some kind of yummy bread. Or maybe those cute hot cocoa cones that Oprah had on her website. I actually found some for sale at CVS but figured it wouldn't be that expensive to do myself.

Love the scarf. Maybe I'll try to teach myself how to knit come January. I could have a head start for next Christmas! Ha.

Kari- I was just planning on putting the mix right in, but I think it will depend on the brand you buy and what the lid looks like. Target brand & Aldi brand have tight fitting lids. There was one brand that had a ridged top that I had trouble getting off (let alone sealing anything) and it might be Walmart, but I can't remember. Just take a peek at the lids before you buy. If it doesn't seal, you could always put it in a baggie and slide it inside the container.

I hope helps!

Jamie- I think that is a FABULOUS idea. I bet your teacher will really love that.

Momma Bear- KnittingHelp.com is what I used to help me learn. That scarf is very easy- only need to know two basic stitches and that is it. Nothing fancy, it just looks fancy :)

Keep those ideas coming!!

So so pretty! I love the way you redid the Crystal Light container.

I found a really neat recipe for red and white swirl cookie sandwiches in Southern living. They look like peppermint candies. I think I am making those and putting them in some festive tins. I'm also going to print the pictures I took at the field trip and school party I volunteered at and put them in a small inexpensive album (I have seen some cute ones at Dollar Tree) for Miss C's first grade teacher. Last time I helped out at a party she said she'd love copies of the pictures I took.
