Happiness Is…Meeting Someone I Admire

Finally, a picture has surfaced of myself & Miss Paula Deen! As you can see from my face, I am getting ready to start bursting into tears because I admire her so much. The story of her investment of $200 into a business to pull her family out of debt is so inspiring to me. If she can do it, couldn’t I do something just as amazing for my family?

Thank you to Classy Mommy for sending me this picture. I have a feeling that this memory is going to provide some motivation for me to do something great someday!

Do you have a goal in mind for your home business or for your finances? What provides motivation for you? How do you maintain your focus towards your goals?

    What a great picture, Amy.
Paulla Deen is definitely an amazing inspiration to all mommies.
The goals for my business are evolving daily since having a website and blog are all brand new for me and I am learning everyday. For motivation I find myself praying a lot….I know I can’t do anything alone.
And as for staying focused, that’s the tough one since we all know being a mommy has its distractions during the day. I’ve found that reading a few blogs like yours each day helps me stay focused on what I want to accomplish.
So thank you Amy, for helping me every day!

Meeting someone you admire is a HUGE motivator! Believing you can do something is the biggest part of the battle and meeting someone who has done it before you makes all the difference.

In my experience, making a simple plan (breaking it down to baby steps) to follow day by day makes a plan doable.

When you are out of your comfort zone, then you know you are making progress (at least personally growing) and learning more each day.

that is sooo cool! She is great, isn’t she?

What motivates me is paying off a bill with money I earn myself. It says “hey, you’re good and you’re contributing the household income!”

And I agree: you’re a BIG success already.

Oh, I really wasn't searching for compliments, but thank you guys for saying that.

I think moments like these are very inspiring to me because I know that if someone else can do it, I feel like it is just a little bit closer to my grasp.

A motivator for me is knowing that I am doing something I am proud of & that my family can be proud of. I want my kids to have someone to look up to and that I can try to prove to them that anything is possible if you have drive and ambition. Sometimes I lose my drive and moments like these push me back on path again.

I love hearing your goals for your business and finances. I know your families are so proud of all you do too. I never underestimate the power of mothers and what we can do for the world!

I love Paula Deen. She is a great inspiration, not only because of her business but because of the personal accomplishments she had to make to get there. Recovering from depression and reclusivity. Amazing story, that woman.

You know, I haven’t even heard of Paula Deen before but you can bet I”m going to go right out and look her up. I am on the verge of deciding to set up my own business. It’s very daunting. However, I recently watched Priates of Silicon Valley – that movie inpsired me such I watched it 3 times in a row!

Saver Queen- I had not heard of that movie before, but I will definitely be checking it out. Thank you for that recommendation.

Paula has a biography out that might provide some inspiration to you. They also feature her story on Food Network. She overcame a lot and is a great inspiration to mothers all over the world!!

That is awesome! You seem to be such a success already–if this inspires you to do more, I’ll love to follow you for the outcome!
On a less exciting (but important to my family note)..my son inspires me to get our finances on track–we are on target to change our family tree monetarily, and I look forward to teaching him how to be a good steward.
