It's much cheaper! My hubby is an eye doctor, so luckily we get free eye care, but you'll get great care at an optometry school clinic. You can Google "optometry schools USA" for a list. I know there are schools in AL (UA B'ham), Philly, PA (PCO) and Memphis (SCO). I found the measurements listed on my old frames and compared them to the options on-line, so I knew it was a similar size and style that I would be comfortable wearing. The glasses were $8, the sunglasses were $15 and shipping was $5 for both pairs combined. <br /><br />We plan to order some from there for our son, he's been in glasses since a year old (preemie with ROP) and he's broken over 35 pairs of frames. Ouch! Even with his strong prescription, the prices for glasses at Zenni are amazing. I just ordered glasses and prescription sunglasses at Zennioptical.com and I love them both. I take a photo of the frames that I like and go home and get online. I found the same frames at Zenniopticle.com for $30.00 and that included shipping and handling! For us the 10 day wait for them to come in the mail at that price was well worth the wait!!I get complemented all the time on my frames. Just make sure you can read the dr. handwritting!! We actually ended up getting our exams at the doctor before we decided to check out America's Best, so we did not get to test out the exam, but we were able to get two sets of glasses with insurance for my daughter for just $89.
