This morning on WSBT, I discuss some ways that you can celebrate your financial milestones as a family. This topic is near and dear to my heart because I think it is so important to teach and share your financial victories and shortcomings in ways that your children can understand.
Here are two of our links to our past celebrations:

What a great idea for including the entire family. My parents were pretty tight-lipped with financial info so I’ve had to learn many difficult lessons on my own, unfortunately. Husband and I are trying to do it differently with our kids. We too are plugging away at being debt free. If we can’t afford to do something, we just tell it like it is.
Last night our 15 year old said that she thinks Americans are responsible for a lot their own unhappiness because they never learn to be content with what they have now and where they are. Whatever it is, is never enough. I thought those were wisdom filled words for a 15 year old. I’d like to think that her dad and I are examples of being content (and thankful) with all that we have.
