The Motherload Blog

Last week kicked off opening the notebook experiments to everyone! We had nine participants, which was a pleasant surprise since it was our first time!

I wanted to offer an incentive for you to participate this week because I think this can be a great way to create memories for your children and your family! For each blogger that participates in tomorrow’s challenge, you will be entered in a giveaway for a Flip Ultra, donated by Pure Digital (and the folks at Wal-Mart). Considering there were only nine participants last week, the chances are pretty darn good that you could be bringing one of these home with you! To learn more about The Flip, read our review of it!

This is a handy little camera to carry in your purse for all those moments when you don’t want to be lugging around a large camcorder. The model that I have for our winner is a sleek looking black.

Put your thinking caps on and pick out something you can do for or with your family and post about it tomorrow! The contest will be open until Tuesday (08/26) at 8PM, so you can have the weekend to complete a project.

Here are the guidelines:

1. Choose anything from any of our notebook entries (past or present) to do with your family. We have hundreds of bookmarked links of crafts, ways to save money, and organizing ideas.
2. Complete an experiment from the notebook and share about it on your blog or website. We would love to see pictures of what you accomplished or a detailed description of how your projects turned out. Please include a link to tommorow’s entry, a link to the original posting of the entry (at the original crafster’s blog), and (to help us relocate the project) the date or link of the notebook entry where you found it. You can use the same formatting as our entries or you can just include that information in your post in your own unique way!

Ha! No, I know you are Miss Crafty and you have to succumb to the painful process of crafting or cooking with your children :) If I can do it, you can too- I am the worst crafty mom in the world! Go for the easy stuff- (like my tub toy one from last week) don’t push yourself too hard. That’s what I say :)

    Thanks for the laugh!

I’m not quite so computer savvy to know exactly how to do what is required for entering this, but I did use one of the notebook experiments posts to get my son ready for kindergarten (as listed on your 7/24/08 notebook). I’ve written a post about it today, but I’m just not sure how to do all of the links. Here’s the link to my blog, if that’ll work…my only concern is that it’s set to private, so I may have to do something about that…

Any advice or help is appreciated!

My son is away at college, and he came home today (a 5 hour drive) to surprise me. After I read your post I knew we had to enter.

We have cherry tomatoes that we had to pick in abundance due to rain, so we made the tomato pasta salad. We made it with the ingredients we had available so ours was not exactly the same but it was delicious!

He and his dad had steak, I had a garden burger. Sorry, no pictures because I don’t have a camera right now. My other son is in France and he’s borrowed our still camera. I NEED a flip camera :) Desperately!

I just blogged my entry. http://www.littlelottistorybook.typepad.com . What a great idea! I am going to have to go back and gather more ideas for fun crafts to do with the kids. I’ve been really slacking off with the hands on experiences with the kids since working on launching my business. Your notebook makes me want to spend the afternoon doing nothing but crafting with the kids. Thanks!
