I have to say that I am QUITE nervous about all of this, but wanted to share with you the latest project that I am working on. Wal-Mart is partnering with You Tube and will be offering a new feature on their site, sharing video footage of how moms save money. They did some research and picked a handful of bloggers to help them kick this new feature off and sent us Flip Video cameras to document ways that we have found to save our family money.

I am very excited to be included and will be sharing more ways that moms can save through this feature. I do want to be honest with you and let you know that I am not being paid by their company at all and that I am under no obligation to promote Wal-Mart, Wal-Mart products, or am asked to say anything in my segments. The payoff for me will hopefully be getting our website name out there to other people and to have the opportunity to make our community here larger and stronger. It also is a great way to build stronger relationships with the other participants and collaborate together on projects.

Working in this format is new for me so please be patient. I tried to do a fun intro and I am looking forward to your feedback. What would you like me to cover? Is there something you would like to see in my house or in my kitchen? Please let me know and I will try to include the things that will appeal to you guys!

I really appreciate all your support and feel very blessed to have such great readers!

Very cool video. Thanks for teaching me a little about my dishwasher. I would enjoy seeing anything that would help save time or money.

Thanks for the video post, Amy. I loved the new format, and finally learned what “Rinse and Hold” means! We have been using the heated dry cycle because of poor planning–we often run the dishes in the morning and need them for lunch/dinner. We plan to turn this option off, run them after dinner and crack the door to air dry overnight. Thanks for the tips!

WOW, great video. Did you rehearse? I can’t believe you did a flawless three minute video! I’m sure I would have botched it up!

Awesome job! You didn’t seem nervous at all, and the intro was really cute. Thanks for the tips – I won’t be using my heated dry option anymore.

p.s. Love the green shirt; I think my friend has the same one, and I’ve been kicking myself for not picking one up for me!

Kristin- I have a bunch of events coming up and I found that shirt in the clearance rack at JC Penny. It was marked down to $11.99- a steal! Thanks so much for the compliments!

CP- I didn't rehearse and I think I did three takes before we came up with that one. I had notes up on my fridge though to remind me to stay on topic :) I like to talk- didn't want to bore people to death :)

Christi- Here's hoping a huge surge in traffic will be the fat check I need to keep doing this ;)

Love you guys & I am appreciating the feedback!!

Great Job! I thougt it was great that you included your kids in the first few minutes. I kept wondering what you were going to do about them and it made me laugh and want to keep watching.
Very proffesional. I never knew there was so much to learn about dishwashers! I feel very educated!

Firemom- I got it at JCP. They had the cutest stuff on clearance. 70% off their markdowns!Such a great deal!

Michelle- Ha! You can hear my kids talking and laughing in all those news segments I do at my house. I put on a show for them with enough food for an entire season of Survivor and pray that we get done before they figure out that the baby gate is up :) I filmed that after that bedtime so I could talk and hear myself think. :)

Fantastic! I was aware of the vinegar, and the air-drying, but not the rinse-and-hold idea. I’m getting a new dishwasher in 2 weeks (Bosch) and am looking forward to reading the manual to learn all the tricks.

I didn’t know if there was much more I could learn about dishwashers, but that was definitely a very interesting video. Thanks!

I would love to see one another ons washing/drying clothes–still trying to figure out how to keep my clothes looking good but be frugal at the same time.

Wow, Amy, that was great! You did a terrific job, very composed and well spoken.

I already turn off the heated dry cycle on my dishwasher and let them air dry. In fact, if I run mine at night, I just turn it off and everything is totally dry in the morning, without even cracking it open to air dry.

I LOVE the tip about the vinegar. I’ve been buying the big bottles of Jet Dry at Sam’s Club for a while, but I’m definitely going to try the vinegar the next time mine says add more. Vinegar is so much cheaper :)

    Again, great job!

Great video, and it was fun to see and hear you. As your daughter’s little head cruised by, I thought “oh, I can so relate…” As for other ideas, I am still in awe of the coverage you did a while back of stoves/ovens (a warming pan: who knew?) Maybe you could film something about that.

First off, I love the green shirt- we have similar taste! Second, this was the first time I was able to watch you in person b/c I’m using my brother’s high speed connection. What an awesome video- great job! You are a natural on camera. hugs, Heather
