I took my kids, who were probably about 11 and 8 at the time, to the town where my husband and I attended college. <br /><br />It's only about 45 mintues away, so the trip wasn't long, but we spent several hours exploring campus and hunting down the "Jayhawks on Parade" that were placed around the town. (If you remember Cows on Parade or Teddy Bears on Parade, this was a similar thing.)<br /><br />It was a really simple day, but I have such fond memories of it and I think they do too.
