Amy -I am so excited to work through this process with you! I was just thinking the other day that I need to find motivation and steps to get our house cleaned from all of the winter yuck! We acutally just got another 8 inches of snow on Friday...ugh...so the ice melt continues to be tracked throughout the house. Suposedly it is going to be in the 50s this week! If so I will be doing a happy dance with my two year old! :)

I no longer have little ones at home so it is easier for me (if I don't get distracted).....but I try to take 12 week days and completely clean one room a day....including floors, windows, basebaords, ceiling fans, closets, drawers.....at the end of the two weeks hopefully the whole house is done!!! once in the spring and again in the fall....then keeping up with the daily and weekly cleaning isn't so overwhelming. I also keep an almost empty closet in our guest bedroom and put all potential "garage sale" items in there(priced as they as placed)....then when our family has our annual sale I am ready. It is a great feeling to be organized. God Bless, Pam, South Bend

Checklists would be great! With a toddler and a full time job I often put off cleaning because the thought of it is too overwhelming and there are so many other things I need to do...I like your suggestion to break down 7 tasks over a week for each room, one at a time. I often make a huge list of the things I want to do for the month and then try and loosely assign them to a day or week, but I hadn't thought of doing that regarding spring cleaning.

That first sentence had me worried! ;)

I'm more of a fall cleaner, motivated by two things: spring is pretty occupied by gardening, and more importantly we host the Thanksgiving meal.
