Day two was much easier for me than day one in spring cleaning my bathroom. I am pretty good about keeping our medications up to date, but I did need to gather everything and get it back in one location.
My medications are grouped by types of illness. I started doing this after I had a couple of nights where I was trying to hunt for medicines and was having trouble finding what I needed. Our drawers are labeled for stomach medications, pain relief/prescription medication, and cold/flu medications. I use a three drawer container for these to make things easier to find. This is located in a dark & cool place in my linen closet on a super high shelf!
We also have a “sniffle kit” for when someone in our family comes down with a cold. In the kit is a little container of tissues, cough drops, Vicks vapor rub, nasal spray, and nose suckers (for little ones). The kit is put together in a smaller container for those occasions. I am, in fact, using it as we speak!
Sound Off: Do you have a system for organizing your medications?

Our system changed recently when my three year old managed to get a bottle of Motrin opened and chewed a few pills before we managed to track him down and take them from him. Thankfully, it was a relatively new bottle so we were able to count out how many he had ingested and call poison control. For the amount he swallowed it wasn’t an emergency, but it could have been. We since put medicines under lock and key until he is out of his “curiosity killed the cat” stage!

I just wanted to say thanks for spring cleaning inspiration.
You have motivated me to “kick it up a notch.”
If you have a minute, maybe you would like to check out my blog post from yesterday about cleaning the bathroom.
I am sure won’t learn anything new… but it may shed a little humor on the cleaning perspective.
Have a great day.

I have my meds the same way! I lve being able to look at a glance and KNOW if I need to replace some Motrin or band-aids.
It also helps my husband, who is not the 24-7 care-giver. He can alk in and immediately take inventory of what we need.

What a great idea. I may have to do this. I have medications all over my house up high of course. I actually use that same 3 draw thing for my bills. I have the top draw for my bills to be paid. Since my husband has his own business the middle draw is for bills for the business and then the bottom draw I use for to be filed after I pay the bills. I so need to go through my medications and get that done. Thanks for the idea.

Thank you,Thank you, Thank you! I appreciate the the printouts this week. My husband saw Day 1 by the computer yesterday before he went to work and was hoping to come home to a newly cleaned bathroom. It took me two days to do everything. I just finished everything and all I have to do yet is hang the washed shower liner and curtain. I treated myself to the organizer tubs and new bath mats for accomplishing the project.

We also keep our under lock and key. We bought a medium sized tool box and keep EVERYTHING in there. It also has a lock on it. The state had us do this when we were foster parents. We have just kept it up ever since. Blessings!!
