I have used Coupon $ense for over 11 years now. I shop 1-3 grocery stores per week and save $800-$1,200 per month and spend $300-$400 (shopping for 6). With Coupon Sense you can have an instructor teach you, I am an C$ instructor! I spend an hour a week preparing to go shopping each week making my list and cutting my coupons.

There is a many misconceptions about coupons. Really only 25% of the coupons released now are for convenience foods. With C$ it takes very little time. It does take some initial learning and retraining of your shopping habits. No More needs-based shopping!

If you decide to give Coupon $ense a try it is only $4 of the first month, be sure to select me Kristin Huss as your instructor, so I can help you learn to save!

Your insights into the GG are very helpful. I am trying to stear away from buying convenience foods and am cooking just about everything we eat nowadays. I won't be trying the game. Thanks!

I'm sorry your experience with Grocery Game didn't pan out... The first couple weeks were tough for me too because I bought stuff I wouldn't normally buy, but it was a learning process... I did manage to find some really good deals and it taught me how to be more aware of how I am shopping... I tried shopping with coupons and without my list at Target and boy did that teach me! I am sticking to the list!

I hear you Amy! I've been clipping coupons since January in hopes of becoming an avid coupon extraordinaire (or something like that)and saving my family tons. But what has happened is it's required a lot more work for me and most of the items are convenience items that I don't use and would end up spending our money on hence our grocery bills went up!
As of late, I've been perusing all the ads for meat sales and frozen veggie sales and pretty much make everything else. I do hit Aldi's periodically when sales aren't as good as their prices as well.
take care,
Beth

Girl, I am totally feeling you. Although I feel like I've completely failed in my homemaking efforts recently, whereas it seems you are just having to focus more on the important things. I can't even cut coupons anymore, much less do the Grocery Game as I was planning.

But oh well...when you own your own business, some things kind of have to move out the way to make room. That's what I'm telling myself anyway!

Amy,
I think you hit the nail on the head when you said it's not worth your time.

Whenever we're looking at ways to organize or save money, we have to ask ourselves, is this really worth it? Sometimes the answer is no!

I do the flier thing, but only for the two grocery stores right near me. I know some moms who shop at 3 or 4 grocery stores every week, and it's just too much. You have to pick and choose!

Your bathroom project looks great, by the way!

Visit To Love, Honor and Vacuum today!

I'm doing the grocery game right now and found that I have saved alot of money. But that is because I've never cut out coupons before and looked at sales. It is definately teaching me how to do it. I has four stores in my area so it was great to price shop. I probably won't continue it because I am learning how to do this on my own. And alot of deals were foods that were not so healthy for my family. But I'm very glad I found the website and was excited that you had done it too!

Amy,

Very cute apron. I tried making one when I took sewing lessons a couple years ago, and it's a little, um, rustic looking. =)
