I remembered seeing a work at home segment on The CBS MS. so I did a search and found the video with you which brought me here to your site. I'm still checking it out but love it so far. Thanks for starting it! I wish you the best.

Thank you so much for this helpful information. I haven't been blogging long and sometimes it is hard to stay motivated when you're not earning very much. The greatest tip for me was about the websites, thank your husband for me! My husband and I want to start a website but have little cash and really just didn't know where to begin. I'll be checking into this program and see if it will work for us.
Joyce

Great advice! There are a lot of people interested in working from home that get sucked in by scam artists. You know what they say about things that are to good to be true... Perserverence plays a big part too, don't give up too quickly, and also be honest with yourself about how much time you can really spend.

Very sound advice!

I have recently begun my own blog, and I would very much agree with having realistic expectations. My initial traffic goals were low (although challenging), and I did not even set initial revenue goals.

Now I have been going for several months, during which I have been putting in some loooong hours (probably averaging 15-25 hours per week, which is a lot when you're not making anything!). But, we are slowly seeing the fruits of my labor. Traffic is climbing, and I am starting to make small amounts of money (small being the key word). This gives me hope that down the road, this may be a respectable home based business for me.

Starting a blog or site is a tough process. It takes a willingness to put in the time and effort, without seeing much return for your investment for a significant amount of time (months at the minimum). It's so important to be passionate about what you are doing, and to have a long term vision and to be willing to put in a lot of hard work up front. And at this point, it seems that by sticking it out, I will be rewarded with a small business that I absolutely love doing, from home! So very worth it!

Great post- thank you! It's wonderful to hear from other moms out there who have done this successfully!

Stephanie @ Keeper of the Home

Oh my goodness! That is a LOT of questions. I want to answer them all, but might need to do a series on this in order to answer everything. I will try to put together more answers for next week and I promise to try and answer everything as honestly as I possibly can. Let me work on this some more and put together some more resources and I will share some more ideas for next week- I promise :)

Amy - I'm the "anonymous" who posted about her husband becoming a school teacher. This is something that I really want to try, but I totally feel lost in the dark. The more I thought about it last night, the more I realized I don't even know how to start. What books do you recommend I get from the library? How does the whole ad sponsors and payments and all of that work. What are some ways to generate revenue other than ads, and how do you establish a reader base? (I stumbled on yours through a google search several months ago, and I am so glad!) If I wanted to sell baby bracelets, or some other small things I do, how would I go about all of that? Oh, and then there's the trying to even get a website in the first place! I don't even have a blogger account. Any suggestions would be much appreciated, and thanks again for a great site. (I guess I just want my site to be like yours right from the beginning, and I know that's not realistic...)
