Running around in our diaper and playing with a plastic tote is much more fun! Throw in a hanger and tell them it is an oar…instant boat! Just goes to show how great the little things in life are!
Note to self- spend less next year!

What a great photo!!!! Isn’t it always the case. They’ll prefer the boxes toys came in, than the actual toy. My little one loves $2 Gladware. Nevermind the $100 play kitchen she has
Happy WW!

While watching the news this morning they showed a clip of shoppers at FAO Schwartz in NYC on Christmas Day. A little girl was asked ‘what was your favorite present?’ – answer ‘markers’. Then mom piped up and asked, what about the Wii you got? It seems almost too funny to be true.
Amy – I’d love to see your thoughts about how to impress upon family that practical gifts are what we want (not more ‘pretty’ dust collectors). We are having our 1st child in May and I’m dreading all the ‘crap’ that we are going to get in the next year. I enjoy ‘cute’ or ‘fun’ gifts but after the 10th one it all becomes just another thing I have to find a place for.

My son also loved his Christmas boxes. He totally ignored some of his gifts, but not the boxes! Cute picture.

Don’t they always find things that aren’t toys and make them into toys…usually they are the most inexpensive things in the house. Happy WW!

What a great picture! I’m headed off to Target tomorrow in hopes of snagging a plastic tub of the same sort that my oldest had a blast with a few months ago

We certainly do waste our money on lots of expensive toys.
Mine just wanted to play with a bag of $3 dog treats that were for our dog. She ignored her new toys until I hid the treats.
