Today on WSBT we discussed ways you can save money on doing your laundry. I will be posting an article on this topic a little later this week!
Sound Off: What are some ways that you save on laundry costs? Do you have any recipes that you use in your house?

I have no secret recipe, but i will be very interested in hearing what everyone else has to say. With 5 of us in the house seems like i am always doing laundry!
One question i have is there a brand of detergent that is better than another. Also, do some of your clothes really need to be washed in warm water, or do your clothes get just as clean in cold water?

I use less detergent than the brand calls for. For the greasy spots, Dawn dish soap is the only thing that works for me. I use it in the kitchen and have a small squirt bottle next to the laundry. Not all that revolutionary or money saving, but there you are….

I use cold water for most everything. . . Also, Fels Naptha bar soap, which is very economical, is great for pretreating stains. (It’s also an ingredient in many homemade laundry detergent recipes.)
