What does a little apple spice & delight smell like? Well, it smells just like a freshly baked apple pie in the new candles from Febreze.

Like all of the products from the Febreze company, these candles are meant to eliminate odor and offer a fresh scent alternative to your home. The candles come in a variety of scents which include meadows & rain, spring & renewal, linen & sky, vanilla & refresh, and the apple spice & delight scent. All candles offer thirty hours of burn time and come in an attractive glass jar.

You know when you walk by the Yankee candle store and can smell the strong candles throughout the entire mall? People pay for that strong scent because you can actually smell them versus some of the cheaper brands on the market. These Febreze candles are just as strong as the Yankee candles and can take out any foul odors in your home.

I have been lighting my candle in the evening to eliminate the lingering smells of dinner or the smell of smoke coming into the house after we have had a bonfire outside. It definitely clears the air, but the scent can be overpowering at times. To eliminate odors quickly though, I would highly recommend these candles.

The suggested retail price is between $7-8, making it less pricey than the Yankee candles, but higher than the other drugstore brands. Possibly combined with a Sunday flier coupon, this would be an affordable alternative.

We would like to thank Procter & Gamble for being among the first to review this great product! As someone who formerly worked in a marketing department, I have to just say that your presentation was GREAT! The packaging and information included made for a very fun review!

Sound Off: What is your favorite brand of candle and your favorite candle scent?

Using these Febreze candles is unnecessary. Who knows what kinds of chemicals they are liberating into the air? If you’re going to burn candles there must be other less expensive jar candles that smell as good for less money.

There are plenty of sites on the internet that have a ton of recipes for creating home made air fresheners (http://www.stretcher.com/stories/03/03may05a.cfm), which cost pennies to make. You can make a Baking Soda and water solution and add a few drops of essential oils of your choice to it for a really cheap alternative. Alternatively, you can leave out a bowl of white vinegar for a few hours and it will also neutralize odors if you can tolerate the smell of the vinegar.

Anything that smells as strongly as Febreze should be a concern. No one needs to inhale all of those chemicals.

I have noticed that most of the candles that I burn put a balck film on most everything in the room causing me to wonder what it is doing to my lungs….I do love the scent of vanilla or mango….I try to burn the soy candles most of the time but I have rec’d many others as gifts and do “cave” in and burn them…..

Keeping the wicks of the candles short helps with the black smoke problem, but not with all candles.

The Method company make cleaning products without harmful chemicals, and they also make a line of soy candles and air fresheners that should smell great while not being overwhelming.

I’ve bought a few of the febreze candles and with just one or two in a small room it’s not necessary to burn them to enjoy their scent.

I usually use Yankee candles but decided to try the Febreze candle as I enjoy several otherFebreze products. I found the candle to be overwhelming in a small room (bathroom). Additionally, the candle emitted black smoke, went on fire and damaged my white medicine cabinet. Luckily I had it on the back ofthe toilet tank so nothiing caught fire. The smoke did most of thedamage. It cause me to have an asthma attack.Between harmful chemicals and the very oily wax of the candle that was the obvious reason it went afire, I would definitely NOT recommend this candle – especially in a home with children!
