Instead of paying our mortgage once a month, we pay half the amount twice a month. Although this doesn't change our monthly payments at all, we will end up saving about $69,000 over the life of our loan, and it takes off 6 years of mortgage payments. I'm not exactly sure how all this works (thankfully my husband does), but I'm excited to have such an easy way to save a lot of money!
