Our biggest budgeting problem is eating out too. That or buying sweets when we’re at the store. But we are getting better, just needs lots of work.

I just wanted to thank you for freebie friday. I have been reading for a few months (and have gone back through all of your archives), but have never commented. I consider saving money one of my biggest jobs as a homemaker, so Freebie Friday helps me feel that much more productive. (And I LOVE ALDI too). Thanks again for providing this service.

As for the budget, ANY “extra” spending outside of the necessities of life seems to currently be a problem. Depressing…

We definitely eat out too much, but the crock pot has been a god-send in curbing it lately.

I think the one area in our budget that needs the most work is frivolous spending. I know that’s pretty broad, but in our case, it mostly involves eating out, so this is the area that we’re really focusing on right now.

wow. I'm the first. We're generally pretty tight with money.
But our biggest budget issues are gifts and eating out.

I HATE giving a cheap gift. I put a lot of time and effort into gifts for people. Usually putting together a gift basket of goodies. I shop around always get the best prices, but it still adds up quickly if you aren't careful. I do have a bit of a gift closet going, but usually I wind up buying a new gift 'cause I don't have anything on hand that seems just right. I do try to hand make gifts when appropriate so that helps.

And we don't eat out much, but so many of our friends eat out as a social thing. And darn it, I still want to participate!
