Great topic! We are more like the couple in Money Magazine. Lately we have been trying to cut WAY back. I’m the chief spender in the family, and I’ve finally taken on the task of recording EVERYTHING we spend, just so we can see where our money goes. And then at the same time, we are trying to refrain from any non-essential spending for at least three months. So far, so good! Anyway, I enjoyed your post. Great food for thought!

You totally have me hoooked on the Festival of Frugality and the Carnival of Debt Reduction. I read those every week! I’m no financial guru either but I consider stretching our dollars a fun hobby!
We recently started attending a Dave Ramsey class at a local church. LOVE it. My husband and I are very different in the money department and this class has helped get us headed in the same direction. It’s been great for our money communication!

I’m not a financial guru either, but try to keep up with my finances. I found this post to be interesting in the sense that in society that no matter how much “we” make we’re always struggling for more money. I guess it’s a matter of living withing your means and being okay with saying no to invitations that require money.
