We just booked our soon to be 5 year olds birthday at our local MCDonalds. I don't have any feedback on the actual expirance yet, but I am hoping it goes well. It's only 50 bucks here with a 25 deposit. that includes use of the play area, happy meals for 10 kids, a gift for the bday child, goodie bags, and cake/ice cream. My son is REALLY excited so I hope it goes as planned. It was a small fee to invite more kids. I believe around 4 bucks a kid more. It was super cheap and I love the idea of not doing anything but having fun w/ them.

I have an unusual position. I'm a play place manager. I do my best to make sure I call 5-7 days in advance to double check your party and it's issues. I recommend in winter months if you want a party to reserve it 2-3 weeks in advance also we don't do parties the last couple weeks of December due to Christmas break craziness. I have had good, bad and the ugly type parties.

The McDonalds here charges $44.95 for 8 kids. That includes a happy meal, a cake, goodie bags. Sounds good to me. Hopefully it all works out well. Do you think that 6-7 year olds will enjoy this?

Our soon-to-be 4 year old daughter LOVES McDonald's playland and so does her almost 3-year old cousin, so the choice for her party this year was obvious. Hope we can find a nice one in our area.
Her first three birthdays were celebrated at home, but this year we decided to have a destination party.
This was also her first full year of preschool and she has been invited to a few of her classmates parties.
So, now my dilemma is whether or not to include her classmates and her outside friends. I don't think we can afford to invite everyone.

We're going this route for our daughter's birthday as well-- I look forward to RELAXING during this birthday-haha...We had considered Chuck E Cheese, but I told hubby I do not want to chase our kids all over the open area, when they can have a blast in a contained area and mama can have fun too :)

@Jen- we're covering the kids Happy Meals and put this right in the invite, but we also noted that the entire family is welcome to join us- that way there's no questions as to who we are paying for.-- Wow $9.99- it's $5.99 per kid in our area and $3.99 for any kid after the 10 minimum

I am sitting at McD's right now and there is a woman here who is having a party she did not reserve or pay for. She got in a disagreement with the manager who told her she had to pay, but somehow won and is getting a freebee. Good for her, because where I live it's 9.99 per child with a 10 kid minimum. If I had 20 kids that would be $200 and I would have to shell out extra for parents food. There are many other places to choose from for about the same
price. It should be a fraction of that cost.

We had my daughter's 1st birthday at McDonald's and are planning on having her 2nd there as well because the kids had so much fun! It was $60 and we got meals, goodie bags, cake, & ice cream for 10 kids.

The parent's meals weren't included, but we added that on the invite so that parents would know to eat before they came or buy their own meal once they got there.

I think McDonalds parties are the way to go! All of the kids had so much fun, the hostess was a blast and they even had a birthday banner with my daughter's name on it!

For a 2 yr old, or any age really, if you are looking for a party away from your house My Gym is great. It is a bit pricey but completely worth it. They do it all... They gave us invitations, thank you notes etc. They decorated, they cleaned up, they entertained the kids... I made a cake and favors and that was it! We re going the McD's birthday party route this year, my daughter is turning 4.
