Hi, Amy! I'm new to your site and am just now getting to go back and read all of your "blogs." I, too, CHOOSE to be a stay-at-home-Mom! I have four daughters and homeschool three of them. I don't think people realize how hard it is to stay at home. I never have enough time to accomplish all that I want to. And, I can't leave my "job" at 5 and not worry about it until the next morning at 9! I can't even go on vacation from my job! But, the perks are so great! The benefits outweigh all of that! I wouldn't miss a moment of my girls' life for anything! We might be broke and not have all the things that other families have, but my girls will have the memories of having Mommy home with them. I missed that as a kid and hope that God will enable me to always be in this "job!!"

PS -- What would we do with out the Food Network and HGTV?!?!? I praise God for them!

What I think the feminist movement is about is CHOICE. Years ago women had none, they took care of the house and babies and that was that. Only occasionally was a woman able break out of the mold and do something fantastic. The womens movement fought to give women the right to vote, own property, and have a chance to live a life of their own; not to ridicule others for exercising their ability to choose what they want to do with their life.
I work full time as a chemist/microbiologist but was able to spend my daughter's first year of life at home. If a lot of these 'feminists' knew how hard it is to keep an entire household running while your other half is working 12 to 14 hour days and still not earning enough to pay the bills they would be holding that up as an example of the strength of women...not assuming that you're taking the easy way out.
Working full-time, with all men, I can't say that I am any happier, and way less fulfulled, than if I had been able to stay home and raise my daughter. I know that she misses her mom and would rather have me back full-time and her daddy working.
