Be AWARE of the Blockbuster promo offers -- It's a bait and switch tactic and always will be!

I joined the blockbuster online less than 6 months ago for the $14.99/month unlimited promotion. They have since reduced the turnaround rate on my movies... they are taking 2-3 days to get back to me and 2-3 days longer to process as a return. Not only has service gotten worst, they just sent me an e-mail notifying me that they want to automatically up my monthly plan charges to the $17.99 a month with no previous mention of $14.99 being a promotion offer.

All in the meantime, I just got a bunch of store coupons for free movie rentals due to a class action settlement in Austin, TX. Hum, I guess that's now going to be paid by my rate increases, you think??

I think the fat cats in Blockbuster Corporate need to focus on being nicer to their existing, loyal customers rather than trying to take advantage of them time after time and class-action after class-action. When will they learn to come up with cost savings like making their overall operations more efficient, treating their front line employees better and reducing corporate overhead?

Maybe the Blockbuster corporate lawyers and Marketing teams are using all these tactics to drive the business to eventual bankruptcy and to keep themselves fed well?

Think twice, before you sign up for a plan and be aware of their bait and switch tactics.
